​Assignment Title: Nutritional Issues

Notes: To research one of the following topics.
  • Investigate various medical problems influencing diet. (eg- allergies, diabetes, heart disease, ect.) Either determine what you would order from a restaurant menu to suit a specific dietary need or devise a typical daily diet.
  • Research and critique various weight management methods and develop a healthy eating and activity program for yourself based on lifestyle and body type.
  • Research a variety of nutritional deficiency diseases such as scurvy, rickets, anemia and osteoporosis. State the circumstances in with the disease occurs and means of preventing and reversing (if possible) the disease. Write a meal plan for one disease that would provide the lacking nutrients.
  • Choose a current food issue, such as irradiation, genetic modification, mad cow crisis, slow food movement, bird flu, fairtrade, etc., and research and write your own opinion on it.
